Fall 2024 Econ 152 - Public Expenditures (Fadlon)
Econ 152 is a wonderful elective. It is a fun way to apply your economic intuition to the world around you. In particular you look at how incentives influence participation in the government aid programs and how economist model insurance. It is an application of the consumer theory that you learned in Econ 100A and 100C but it is not as stressful. For Econ 152, Prof Fadlon typically has a final as well as two long problem sets. I have video reviews and playbooks to guide you through each step of the course and ensure that you have a successful quarter! Studying the old exam questions is vital for doing well in the course. The exam reviews are organized around old test questions and I have a separate review devoted to the latest practice exams. The reviews are recorded and posted on my auxiliary website, so you can watch them at your convenience. A tentative schedule is given below. The actual dates may vary but there will be five to six reviews for the final and two reviews for each problem set. The reviews average 90 minutes. They provide quick overviews of the key topics and step-by-step instruction. A former college instructor, I went to graduate school at UCSD in Economics and was a teaching assistant for the Econ 100 and 120 series. More importantly, I have been tutoring electives for UCSD Economics students for more than 20 years including all the times that Prof Fadlon has taught Econ 152. If you are a new student, start by creating an account and then listing Econ 152 as one of your courses. See the Getting Started Page for more information. As a new student, your first session is free!Topic | Date | Time | Cost | Action | |
